Welcome to the first edition of the Whole Child School News, our
monthly roundup of news and information for the WCS community. For
this summer, our main focus will be the work being done by the various
committees, and seeing how we can all pitch in to help the school get
ready for September. Once the school year starts, we’ll continue with
committee updates, and also be adding a calendar of key upcoming dates
for school events along with other information.

We would like to announce the teachers who will be teaching at WCS in

For anyone who missed the Open House on June 19th, please read the
complete note from the teachers, which also includes valuable
information on each area of study at WCS:

The teachers have also provided an informative and detailed program
overview of the main themes and content grade-by-grade. Please see

They are working to find solutions for parents who require
transportation for their child(ren). They will be contacting everyone
who completed the transportation survey with the available options as
soon as possible.

A fundraising package is being developed so that committees will be
able to approach potential donors and sponsors for WCS needs. This
package and more fundraising information will be distributed to each
committee when ready.

Thanks to all who attended our Welcome Picnic on June 7th at
Ashbridges Bay, and the WCS Open House on June 19th. It was great to
meet parents, teachers and children and get a first look inside the
building. With summer vacations happening now, the main focus of the
Social Committee is to organize grade-specific ‘meet and greet’ events
prior to the School Opening in September. Stay tuned for more

And finally, here’s a great chance to store and display those great
summer photos and while also helping WCS: we’re having a silent
auction for a Sony digital photo frame. Deadline for bids is July
24th. Details and bid information are here:

So many things have been accomplished and there is so much more to
come! Over the summer months, we invite you to visit the WCS website
www.wholechildschool.ca as a central location for information updates,
asking questions, and connecting with other parents.

Have a great July!
